Connecting Through Languages

Bienvenidos, Bienvenue, Benvenuto, Bem-vinda, Yōkoso.

Welcome souls across the world.

MAJOR APP FEATURE!

Besides being the greatest Astrology self-insight App ever, TwinFlame is also dedicated to making the app accessible to all those who wish to learn and grow through the works of Astrology. The App can now be translated into 28 different languages, so you can connect with us in whatever language best suits you.

We call this feature TranslateBot - when you see a globe icon in the upper right-hand corner of a screen, you can tap that globe and program TranslateBot to do his thing!

(If the TranslateBot is unable to translate to a language you want, send us an email and we’ll see what we can do.)

Language is such an important part of who we are. It connects us to our culture and in turn helps us connect to ourselves. Just like Astrology, culture is deep and rooted in us regardless of if we are fully aware of it. Culture is an extension of self-insight. Language, location, experience, food, they are all factors in creating who we are.

If you remember from my first blog, I mentioned how I’m holding strong at 16 countries that I’ve traveled to so far. I always get super excited to talk about something I hold near and dear to my heart. As an Air sign, I literally flow wherever the wind takes me. And it has taken me to some of the most beautiful places and I have also met the kindest souls on those trips as well.

France, Japan, Spain, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Ireland (Northern and the Republic), Italy, Portugal to name a few.

Traveling has been a very intimate thing to me in my growth as a person. I think even if you don’t plan to work outside of your country, or even plan to work within any international scope, traveling is so very important.

You are going to come into contact with people from around the world every day of your life. Being able to be empathetic and understanding all starts with trying to understand and work with people that think differently and have different backgrounds.

In most of my travels I have stayed in hostels. For those who are unaware, a hostel is an affordable accommodation option that allows you to reserve a single bed in a dorm-style room. It is my favorite way to travel because I meet so many different people from all around the world who are doing the same thing that I am.

I have learned so many things from the souls I’ve met and have stayed good friends with them.

I want to tell you about a good friend of mine, my French fry, Mau. She is my friend from the beautiful city of Paris, France. I met her at my last location, after a 3 month travel, in Dublin, Ireland.

When I arrived in Ireland, I was exhausted to say the least and I was beginning to feel homesick. Ireland was my last location and I would be there for two weeks before I would get on a flight back home.

After three days of being there I really considered looking for a way to get on an earlier flight back home… Until I met Mau.

After a long day of sight-seeing, when I arrived back to my room, she instantly started a conversation with me. She had a strong French accent. She didn’t think her English was good, but I understood her perfectly. We ended up going to the pub that night…and every night after for the next 4 days!

We instantly became best friends. We were both mixed raced and both learning how to speak Spanish. And in some ways it was easier for us to speak broken Spanish to each other than it was for us to speak only English.

(Because let’s be honest, me speaking French was not about to happen for this monolinguist American.)

But I did learn many French phrases which I will refrain from typing here (it’s always the bad words you learn first, haha). This really put into perspective how important language is. I’m not here to convince you to want to learn another language. Learning a new language is not easy, trust me I know.

But it’s the effort that you put in that really makes all the difference. Friendships can really transcend language and culture.

There is no right or wrong way of being. We are different, and we should continue to embrace the things that make us different.

From me and the TwinFlame team, we thank you for your continued support to grow a global community through Astrology and self-realization.
